I know there are groups like SUJU who has always been doing concerts in LATAM but in general, lots of groups bypass LATAM. Recently there are more groups doing concerts there which shows there is a good potential for LATAM music market for kpop.
There is quite a good sized music market for kpop in existance. Recent StrayCity, a featival based on SKZ of 5 concerts having a total of 270k attendance highlights this. That there is a good market for concerts in LATAM.
The next question is – the successes of recent concerts in LATAM from BTS to Twice to SKZ (including their StrayCity festival) should be a good indication for more kpop to do a few stops in LATAM. It seems like tickets sales are brisk and good (all sold out) and LATAM fans are also enthusiastic. Why do lots of other kpop groups seem to skip LATAM when we can see that kpop can sell well there? Even SKZ skipped LATAM until their recent tour.
I saw that Treasure, Seventeen, TXT, Itzy, IVE to name a few who skipped LATAM for their new tour.
And next question will be – not really related to LATAM per se, will SKZ continue their StrayCity festival in other countries or will they also cover LATAM for their current tour considering they covered LATAM for StrayCity already.
