Honestly, there is a lot of buzz since Manon’s hiatus and I understand why. Undeniably she was/is/will be an integral prt of Katseye. But since, her hiatus I believe every conversation regarding Katseye has turned into ‘Manon’s status in the group’. People talk about how they miss Manon and everything. But I believe the whole wild era is reduced to an era without Manon’… What would Manon’s outfit be like if she was in the MVs, what would the choreography look like if Manon was there etc. etc.
Honestly, this conversation is tiring atp, I specially feel so bad for the girls how reporters and their fans constantly demand an explanation regarding Manon’s status. Katseye is currently in the middle of their Wild era, and Manon was absent from the entire era, at least let this era end. I understand why fans demand explaination from Hybe. But you see Katseye is working non-stop since last year, and naturally Hybe don’t want to kill Katseye’s momentum as a group by announcing her departure.
I would like to draw comparison with Rami of BM, who is not active for a long time. Infact, BM released two mini album and completed an entire tour without her,and is currently on a tour as well… Yes, it would be wrong to say that I do not see Rami’s conversation here and there… But in BM’s case fans and reporters are understanding enough to not bring her up every time, and put the group in a gunpoint to answer about her status.
Also, no matter how much public try to make it Hybe vs Manon thing. Idk I have a feeling something is not alright between the girls well. The girls are in constant touch with other DA girls who were there friend and even support them publicly (beside the Katseye members). So, them being together in Coachella and Ariana Grande’s tour and not even interacting with eachother feels so off. And before you guys say maybe they are restricted bs… Mind you Katseye is not restricted like any typical kpop group. They have openly supported/ disassociated with things they believe in. For eg – Lara and Megan coming out, and Katseye collectively unfollowing Ed Sheeran, even though he was the main producer of one of their tt, etc.
And I don’t get why people act like DA was some 20 years ago, whereas in reality it was just before 2-3 years, why do ppl assume that suddenly Manon’s perception was work life was changed after participating in DA. The girls might have become like sisters since now they are in the same group, staying together. There is no bad feeling regarding any of them regarding any incidents of DA… Bro if they were 19 during Dream academy they are probably 21,22 now…. So, it’s really weird how ppl so conveniently assume, that suddenly every bad feelings, every conversation was forgotten once DA was over. It takes a lot of time to adapt to a new environment and accept the changes. Similarly it takes a lot of time to change a pre set notion about somebody and fix things between people.
