Why isn’t Lsfm’s comeback resonating as well?

I feel like Made My Night is their best release since HOT. Sure, I can see why people are saying it’s too generic or that it’s not as good as Perfect Night, but I for sure thought it would be resonating much more.

I thought Source did a great job hyping up and promoting the comeback as well. The Y2K aesthetics/concept were cute, the album looked great, and their styling was great too. They released a high budget MV and an official performance film that may as well be a second MV because of how good it looked. They went on Studio Choom, performed on The Jennifer Hudson Show, performed at BlizzCon, appeared on Inkigayo and M Countdown this past weekend for promotions, appeared on collab livestreams, etc.

Idk, I feel like they’ve done pretty much everything they could to promote this comeback both domestically and internationally, but it doesn’t seem to be resonating as well as expected. It’s been 10 days since the release, and the song is currently sitting at #428 on Melon despite k-Fearnots’ collective efforts. The Spotify numbers also aren’t as strong as they could be, even with its favorable 2:05 song length. You could say that the English lyrics might be what’s stopping it from charting, but Perfect Night was also a fully English song, and it was easily their most successful song in Korea.

What do you think are the reasons for this? Why do you think the GP is no longer showing as much interest in Lsfm as they used to? Or is it just as simple as the song not being as good as people expected?
