4 member groups look so visually flat and I hate the symmetry trap

Every single time I see a 4 member album cover, a concept photo, or a standard lineup, it looks so incredibly flat and unwavering.

Because 4 is an even number, it forces this rigid, blocky symmetry that always ends up splitting right down the middle. There is no natural focal point for your eyes to rest on. It feels like they are trapped in a box.

Even when you look at groups that changed sizes, when they shifted lineups, you can feel how the geometry of the group changes.

To me, 3, 5, and 6 are just so much more workable.

With 3 or 5, you get a perfect triangle or a definitive center person with balanced wings.

Even with 6, you can break them into two triangles or staggered pairs so it doesn’t look like a flat wall.

But 4 just feels so structurally stiff to block choreographically and photographically.

Now, I am not hating any group, infact I see 4 member groups getting more opportunities as solo career yet 4 member groups doesn’t fit right to me, for some reason it itches me.

If you guys were creating a group from scratch, what number are you choosing between 3, 5, or 6 and what concept would you like to go with?
