Because I, for one, have LOL and I’m not afraid to admit it either. I know being parasocial is very frowned upon and that it can become unhealthy, but honestly I just don’t care. I’m not harming anyone, and I’m fully aware that my faves will never know I even exist and im totally okay with that. I’m deeply invested for my own enjoyment and caring about them genuinely brings me joy.
I like to vote for music shows and award shows so that my groups can have a chance to win. When they do, it brings me immense joy to see them smile and cry. When I get into a group, it’s never just about the music at that point. I become invested in the members, their personalities, their journey, and everything else that comes with following them. This might sound like the craziest sentence, but one of my favorite aspects of kpop is the parasocial element of it LOL
My stance is probably a super unpopular opinion here, but I wanna hear about you guys’ experiences with your favorite groups and how you approach stanning them. Feel free to roast me while you’re at it hahah
