Recently i notice the amount of groups that have the same sounding singing voice…like it got to the point if you tell me that this song if from X group even do it could be wrong i would believe you cause most of the time it sound the same or that Y member was singing but it as Z cause they sound very alike.
Like there are still active groups that have distinctive sounds and vocals in there groups but most of the time they sound generic not that they are bad singers or something like that but more like they sound like every other song or sound like every other idol out there…like maybe is missing the unique vocals and concepts that older groups used to have or the fact that most groups are trying to copy the “popular” group sound to get some push.
Like if you hear an idol with a “raspy” voice they are the rapper like in every other male group out there and if they where vocal instead it would make the group be different but going for safe has change the fun of getting to know a new group ….like the focus on visual over vocals make kpop sound very the same….like is that the reason that people love a group that “sounds like 2 gen” cause at least is something different than a new song that was made for tiktok trend.
I miss the Vocals of older groups like Mamamoo, Red velvet , BTOB that every member sound different between each other and also from the groups of there time
