Trying to make a neutral take on the matter. I just feel like Rescene is on an isolated road that’s not the KPOP highway where all the other groups are. I’m not saying that’s either good or bad, just how it is.
Or that Rescene is the new kid in school where all the established or popular students are like, “who the hell is that?”
For the mainstream KPOP fandom, I feel they barely acknowledge Rescene and if they do it’s begrudgingly. “Yeah, they exist, but they’re not one of us.”
Is it because Rescene fans aren’t the typical KPOP fans? Many are non-KPOP fans in general, made up of aunties and uncles who may not know who Fromis_9 is. Or is it because Rescene is from essentially a mom-and-pop shop compared to the big companies? Also, their rise is unusual, as it came through YouTube and variety/comedic content rather their songs (which for 2 years struggled in the charts).
For the record, I like Rescene for their comedy but musically and in other aspects like visuals the other groups are just plain superior.
