I became a producer in the Korean K-Drama Entertainment iIndustry

In 2008 I sold everything I had and flew to Seoul on a whim that soon Korea would be producing world class content that would garner global recognition.

I was called crazy by family, friends and colleagues, but I went anyway.

My 17 year journey saw me rise from K-Drama enthusiast to coordinator at MBC, then the boardroom at KBS, worked with A. Smith (Kitchen Nightmares) on the Masked Singer and Hidden Singer remakes, and managed the department that remade ‘the Good Doctor’ with Freddie Highmore alongside producer Daniel Dae Kim (Lost).

I’ve travelled 20+ countries on behalf of KOCCA discussing Hallyu with foreign markets and at every convention like K-Con, and pitched to every studio and platform in Hollywood.

I started writing a series on this journey and thought I’d share it here in case anyone was interested how someone with no prior connection to Korea became a director and producer within the industry.
