Why I think KiiiKiii is having trouble attracting stans

I actually took the time to watch their behind the scenes and other in-house content. Honestly, I don’t know how to phrase this without sounding harsh, but I find the girls quite boring. I’m saying this as someone who’s fluent in Korean, so I’m not relying on English translations or missing the nuances of what they’re saying. None of them are particularly witty or quick with their words, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone in the group who is naturally suited for variety and willing to go all out to create funny moments.

Since debut, outside of their hit with 404, I’ve never come across a viral clip from their variety content. The only time they’ve really gone viral with the public was the Haum udon noodle controversy. Even now, there are people who primarily associate KiiiKiii with that incident. I literally saw a Korean short just the other day with millions of views titled something like “Top 5 Idol Fuck Ups,” and KiiiKiii’s udon incident was included. Some of the top comments were from people saying they felt hesitant to get into KiiiKiii after seeing one member treat another like that in front of the whole world.

I haven’t been tangential, but getting back to the main point, I think the biggest issue they’re facing is that being good at variety isn’t really something you can teach. You either have it or you don’t. And right now, I just don’t see a single member who I’d consider particularly funny or entertaining in that regard.

Those of you who follow them or have watched their content, how do you assess KiiiKiii and their in-house videos? Do you think there’s any correlation between their lack of variety skills and their difficulty attracting a larger stanbase?
