We are finally in the month of November, meaning award show season has officially began. Now I think it’s safe to say MAMA is the biggest award show in Kpop, it’s probably the only award show most kpop fans still actually care about. Now around 3 weeks ago Mnet officially begam dropping the performing artist line up for this year ceremony, with them hyping it out to be the biggest in any host city since MAMA was created. Now you might be asking, “wait, didn’t you post this already a few days ago?” which the answer is yes. Tho many things quite changed from them, two new performers were added to the line up (Tuide and Panic) making the total 28 performing artist as of right now, collab stages were announced, and I actually took the time of the day to look through the previous ceremonies the see what was the year that had the most performing artists in a single host city.
Now I believe the current record was Mama 2022, with a total of 31 artists throughout the two days. Now assuming mnet is actually being truthful and 2022 did hold the current record, around 4 more performers would have to be added for it to become the year with the biggest performing line up in a single host city. Now of course there is a huge probability that some of the final performers will end up being solos or seperate units from the groups already performing(For example, they considered 3racha and Yeonjun separate performing artist from their perspective groups who also performed), or that mnet ended up just lying to build more hype. Now assuming this is true, who would you personally want to be added to the line up? I mean while the line up is pretty good, there are still many artists left out who people wished were included. While it hasn’t been announced, it is rumored that CL and Allday project will also have a collab stage.
