I’m a huge fan of i-dle to the extent that when they eventually disband or start having less frequent cbs, i’ll probably phase out of the kpop fandom space altogether since they’re the group i’m the most active fan in. Their last two group cbs, good thing and mono, weren’t recieved all that well with mono only being moderately successful but not charting well and good thing being an overall flop.
I know there are a lot variables that could’ve led to the negative reception of these songs: the name change resetting their brand, controversy surrounding soyeon cutting her hair, concerns they were “shading” soojin and both songs, especially mono, being predominantly in english and not resonating with korean audiences.
But all that aside, with them cancelling the US portion of their world tour due to “schedule reshuffling” and delaying their comeback (originally meant to have been last month) do you think it’s possible they’ve already past their peak? or am i just an anxious melodramatic fan?
i know people like to downplay the popularity of certain groups for the sake of stan wars and i’m not interested in any of that as i-dle have already objectively accomplished things that make them stand out among other groups, i do however wanna know how much interest i should vest into worrying about charting or awards or whatnot.
