Hi, I’ve been a Flover for five years ever since I ran across the mv for dkdk and I’ve always thought they’re one of the most brilliant and underrated girl groups in kpop but I think they have outdone themselves with the new album and especially the title track!
Vitamin Me is that song for me. Like this song really makes me feel things. A summer bop that gets me in my emotions, and that doesn’t happen every day.
One of the many things I appreciate about this track is how the instrumental helps to carry the story just as much as the lyrics. It’s like a perfect fit between verbal and sonic content.
First, I love how it starts off with a bit of a bossa nova vibe. To me, this part of the song carries a little of that Portuguese/Brazilian emotion known as saudade (disclaimer: I’m not Brazilian but I have a great admiration for the music). This part introduces a context of longing or sadness, but also with a hopeful sort of mood.
With the prechorus things start to pick up and we sense that something wonderful is about to happen. And we would be absolutely right because…
then that amazing chorus kicks in, announcing itself with “I’ma make you happy…” (mission accomplished, girls!) By this point the sort of bittersweet mood at the beginning has somehow (seamlessly, without our even really noticing how) transformed into bliss.
But, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, they go into that (even more) blissful post-chorus. So lovely. To me, the transition (“got a boost of vitamin…”) with the steady beats building up to the actual post-chorus, is one of the most exciting moments in the track. It feels like the actual moment of injection of a huge, healthy megadose of VITAMIN ME and then after that you’re soaring as they sing “Me-e-e-e-e”
Such a genius track, plus the mv is amazing and the girls have never looked better. The entire album is also wonderful and I have to mention that my two current favorite b-sides are Pocket Treat and Teacher. Like wow! The entire creative team and the girls themselves really knocked this one out of the park.
After all they’ve been through as a group, I’m so happy to see Fromis not just surviving but thriving in 2026. As of this writing the mv has over 8 million views and I hope this comeback continues to be successful (hoping for music show wins!)
But despite whatever metrics of success this comeback might have, they’ve already won in my book because right now the girls are shining and it’s a beautiful thing to see. Vitamin Me makes me feel strangely nostalgic (maybe for all that Fromis has been) but also strangely hopeful. Not just for Fromis’s future, but even just hopeful in general. Idk why, it’s just one of those rare songs that makes me feel that way, and that’s why I love it so much.
Fromises are forever ❤️
