I got into K-pop thanks to Newjeans. I already knew what K-pop was since my sister had a pillow of this group called Super Junior. As you can imagine I would make fun of her and also make fun of K-pop (immature ik). Anyways, at work this one girl also likes K-pop so we would talk about our favorite groups, favorite songs, biases, etc.
I already had a suspicion, but she confessed to me that she liked me and I had to reject her cos I just don’t see her that way, so we decided to just make it like it never happened. Fast forward to now, she’s into this one guy, things are going well for her and I’m truly happy for her, but then the other day I was trying to talk to her about some K-pop stuff, a new bias I got and she just kept staring at me like I was a bug and made an audible “sigh” not only that, but now she doesn’t talk to me as often, is always on her phone and is mostly turned around, which in my mind means she doesn’t want me to talk to her? Idk… I thought we were friends, but I guess not? So now I don’t have anyone to talk to about K-pop with, I’m an introvert so I just have like 1 real friend and it’s a dude who luckily doesn’t make fun of K-pop and me liking it, but it’s not like he’s into it like me.
I don’t look like someone who likes kpop, like if you look at me on the street you would never say “oh that guy might like K-pop!” Hahah so I would probably never go to any concert, or event or anything like that bc I just don’t have the confidence I guess. I’m just wondering if it’s weird for me to like K-pop as a guy in his 20s… if I get a female friend will she think I’m weird for liking K-pop? Since I am straight I feel they might see me as a pervert or something? I am a dude, but I’m not a freak lol, but honestly in this day and age men do suck so it’s lowkey understandable for them to kinda get the ick… fml I feel like I’m hiding this big secret from everyone, but it’s literally just me liking K-pop hahahah
