I remember in first few years SKZ are relatively unknown, when they went to shows and tried to get the audience to engage by letting them sing but since they were quite unknown, there was basically silence from the audience. Understandably, they were unknown back then.
Looking back and comparing to the current festivals and concerts, especially their current DominATE tour, with the sheer size of the tour itself, when I saw the huge number of audience singing along to their songs, I can feel the crazy energy of their concert. They feed on the energy and the audience gives back equally.
One of the things I noticed, I know this is a relatively contentious issue, people have been saying that kpop should be majority Korean lyrics-wise but me as a non-Korean, though I love kpop, I find Korean much harder than Japanese. I can memorize Japanese songs no problem, have sang Japanese song even without lyrics like Hikki’s First Love at karaoke but Korean songs are definitely different for me.
The sprinkles of English in SKZ songs made it much much easier for their audience to engage thus the loud singing at their festivals and concerts. I know there are people who does not like the crowd to be so loud, understandably coz they pay for their idols to sing, not the audience but for SKZ, looking at the type of music they make, other than their short melodious parts in their songs, the rest are very rap heavy which we all know we would not be singing them anyway, so there are parts where SKZ fully sing and there are parts that the audience can sing (the short melodious part with English lyrics).
Whenever I see how fun their concert and festival are, know they have really made it. They have reach their dream to perform for their fans as what they have repeatedly mentioned before. I remember back then their dream is to perform at certain venues and now they finally perform on those stages!
And shoutout to SKZ’s live band! They are awesome! You guys are awesome! Keep on being awesome!

And SKZ is really a group meant for live performances – festivals and concerts are their bread and butter. They will have you singing and screaming and have fun.
