Sometimes I wanna go into the kpop industry but then I literally see everything about it and I am like nah

Had to delete and reupload because of a grammatical mistake in the title.

Here’s the thing: when I was 12, I got into K-pop, but after the many controversies I saw, especially with how the black community is treated, I was like nah, this mess isn’t for me.

Now, years later, I graduated high school, I’m about to start college, and I got into Katseye. Manon is of a similar background to me, the difference being that both of my parents are Ghanaian. I’m about to drop out of college and thinking of training t at least get into a global girl group that is kpop adjacent because I’m not happy with where I am, and I see all this hatred towards Manon for essentially being black and having the audacity to have a different work life than others (in a nutshell, I know the discussion is much more complicated than that, but that is the essential nutshell). Not only is the whole hiatus situation, but I’m just like dang, this industry is not it, and I think it’s gotten a bit worse from when I was 12, because why are these labels moving like this in the big 2026?

Also, I don’t like how elitist the scouting system is, because you already have to be rich in order to even get noticed fr.

The western music industry ain’t better for sure, let’s not get it twisted. But dang, the K-pop industry is just a whole mess, and some of the things I have a problem with I don’t even think I am allowed to get into fr because there is a lot of predatory practices too.

I wanna know if I’m not the only one who feels this way, cause I’m still doing a lot of research and I am really shocked about how everything I read and such.
