Samsung Electronics Co. announced on Monday that it will enlist startups to participate in its external startup incubation program C-Lab Outside until August 14.
This year marks the 7th edition of the contest, which will simultaneously take place in four regions: Seoul, Daegu, North Gyeongsang Province, and Gwangju.
The recruitment fields include a total of eight categories: artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices, digital health, content and services, mobility, materials and components, and ESG (environmental, social, governance).
Any startup registered as a corporation in South Korea and at the Series B investment stage or below can apply through the Samsung Electronics C-Lab website.
Samsung Electronics established C-Lab Outside in 2018 to invigorate the domestic startup ecosystem and create quality youth jobs.
Selected startups with potential business connections to Samsung Electronics will be actively provided with business collaboration opportunities through meetings with relevant business departments and proof of concept (PoC) projects.
This year, Samsung Electronics has also launched the C-Lab Outside Consulting program, in conjunction with the Samsung Electronics Win-Win Cooperation Academy, to provide more specialized consulting.
Additionally, support of up to 100 million won ($72,000) without equity acquisition, dedicated office space, participation in domestic and international IT exhibitions such as CES, and free transfer or licensing of Samsung Electronics’ patents are provided.
To date, Samsung Electronics has nurtured 912 internal ventures and startups (406 internal and 506 external).
