Just for context, I’ve followed Red Velvet since their debut, so I’ve seen it all lol
But in recent years, ever since the last few comebacks, is it just me or they seem really tired? Even in variety content or BTS content, they always seem to not want to do anything.
In variety content it’s always the same, the older members don’t know anything about trends, the younger ones do blah blah. It’s getting boring at this point? It feels like they don’t have anything to talk about because they’re not excited about anything anymore.
It feels as if the girls are in secret competition with each other sometimes (specifically in that one video of Joy and Wendy cooking on a variety show, I forgot the name) especially with the last comeback seeing how skinny everyone has gotten, Joy can only talk about how she wrote the lyrics for the song (like yes you go girl, but it’s like the only thing she talks about?). It’s getting old..
In a vlog by Seulgi she goes on a diet for their Surfin Boy MV because she has to show her abs. I’m sorry but these girls are already so freaking skinny?! Like what.. but that’s a whole other big k-pop problem anyways
In their recent Level Up series, which has a new season now, they also seem lethargic, tired, almost pessimistic, not really wanting to play the games, and they fail at the simplest instructions, as if they don’t really wanna be there. Is SM holding them hostage? I don’t get it. I don’t understand how the fans like to watch it either, it makes me sad honestly. I can understand they’ve been around for 12 years now, but they seem tired and bitter and unhappy honestly.
I also saw their BTS for the Surfin Boy MV, and a couple of things happen: Yeri’s bangs get wet, and the other members tell her to go fix it with the hairstylist and Yeri says she’s “too lazy” but reluctantly goes to fix it anyways. All the members seem very uninformed on the MV and the scenes they have to shoot. Everytime they say hello to the camera they seem irritated
I’m just wondering what happened to them. SNSD always left the same impression on me as well honestly
