I’ve noticed an ongoing trend between bg stans and how they behave when it comes to shipping members within the group. (idk much abt gg stans if it’s the same so i just won’t touch on it)
I think shipping irl people is weird in general but I’ve always wondered how these fans seem to take their bg ships seriously and when asked to justify their passionate claims that their ship has any validity, we’re left with fan service moments as proof. As if these idols wouldn’t intentionally present themselves in a flirtatious matter as a way to sell the bf fantasy in a more calculated way bc they know that unless their flirtations are directed towards another member or a fan during a fan meet/call or in their content, no one would bat an eye, but if caught doing it towards the opposite sex that may be considered their peer, then suddenly you hear the justifications coming out of their mouth that almost always sound like them coping that they couldn’t possibly just be straight and into women who aren’t them. (and emphasize on them being 100% sure that it’s impossible) I know it ranges differently from person to person, but what I’ve noticed with these people is they seem to get offended when presented the mere idea that maybe their idols just are into women or that the content they consume and analyze so much involving their ships are just friends but also members of a boy group trying to dangle in your face the fantasy of dating them in the most inoffensive way possible. In some way, I think they want to appear like they are the superior type of fan that are okay with their idols dating. But the way they violently react to opposite sex dating rumors or ships, says otherwise. Bc we know their superior fan that’s cool with dating comes with the condition that as long as it is with the same sex, they’re ok with it bc it softens the blow for them not being considered in the first place lol Does it sound a bit too far to assume? maybe. I could be wrong. But i’ve seen countless of these type of stans lose their brains just by the mere insinuation that their ships are not real.
