I’ve seen multiple cases now of people assuming regular old CGI and virtual effects in MVs are AI generated, even on videos from 4 + years ago, and I completely understand them. AI use has exploded in recent MVs, and models aren’t just being trained on raw footage, but CGI videos as well. This is making it extremely difficult to tell what exactly it is you’re looking at, especially if the application of AI is done carefully.
The only way AI use will cease is if the majority of the big companies unite to create and enforce some sort of standard, if some kind of law passes, or if fans start ruthlessly protesting and boycotting by the millions. In other words it’s just not gonna happen, at least optimistically not for another 3 years.
I’m genuinely concerned the world is going to have a massive talent vacuum in a decade, for now I just want to share some cool MVs with you all that unfortunately many people now days would assume were at least in part AI generated.
