This isn’t to attack anyone who likes recent releases, I don’t necessarily hate any of them but I think it’s getting so repetitive and uninteresting. I’m specifically talking about girl groups here since I don’t follow boy groups.
The EDM trend has already been talked about a lot and while that’s not something I have an issue with, I like EDM, I just wish they would do something more unique or personal with it. I’m talking more broadly about originality and personality here I guess.
This post was kind of mainly spurred on by Lesserafim’s releases after Spaghetti, Illit’s It’s Me, Katseye and Aespa’s Lemonade (I know a lot of people liked It’s Me and Lemonade, don’t lynch me I’m just seeing a pattern here.) I stan Le Sserafim and Illit and I did like most of the b-sides on those recent albums but this is mainly with the title tracks.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has gotten sort of bored with kpop in recent times. It feels like everything is predictable and just not different. Also I’d like to clarify, I know kpop has always been very trend hoppy, I haven’t been here for very long so maybe I’m just a newbie getting shocked by normal stuff lol
EDIT: Also, I got into kpop around the time when you had Drama, Supernova, Crazy, I’ll Like You, Queencard, etc. Great time for Kpop. I may just be spoiled
