I was subscribed to him, and wish him well. One of the bigger ktubers out there. He cited the growing toxicity of the kpop community he wanted to now distance himself from. Since his face reveal in an attempt to connect and gain support from the community, he’s expressed that he’s received more hate from doing so and he’s just done with it.
Of course, there’s more to the answer on leaving including now being in a relationship and having other interests, but the distilled version is mentioned above.
Personally, he got a lot of hate from the “I Liked Boompala” video, and I think that was the last straw for him. I personally did not agree with his opinion on that the song was good, but of course, people took it too far and spewed more hate in his direction for having such an opinion.
While it’s sad he’s leaving, I respect his decision and glad he’s doing better in his personal life than ever before.
In an era where countless samey kpop MV reaction videos now dominate the platform, he was one of the few that provided deep and insightful commentary about kpop, the industry itself, and various new releases.
Taejiu will be missed.
