Korea Teachers’ Pension seeks 4 brokerage firms for 2026 global stock investments

The Teachers’ Pension, a retirement fund for private school educators and employees in South Korea, is seeking four brokerage firms to manage its overseas equity investments for 2026.

The following are the details of the request for proposals (RFP) announced on Oct. 20:

1. ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be licensed investment brokers, or dealers under South Korea’s Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act and meet all of the following:

— Net capital ratio of 150% or higher (according to the Korea Financial Investment Association’s standards)

— Ability to trade overseas stocks and overseas-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs)

— Ability to exchange trading and settlement data through the Bloomberg-based order management system of the Teachers’ Pension’s 

2. TRADING PERIOD: January – December 2026

3. EVALUATION CRITERIA

Institutions will be selected based on combined quantitative and qualitative assessments (total 100 points):

(1) Quantitative (70 points):

Order processing capability (25), commission rate (20), manpower (15), compliance (8) and ESG practice (2)

(2) Qualitative (30 points):

Research service for the Overseas Securities Team (15) and Research service for Investment Strategy Team (15) of the Teachers’ Pension

In case of a tie, rankings will be determined by quantitative score priority.

* The evaluation of personnel assigned to operations and ESG practice will be based on data as of Sep. 30, 2025 (the end of the month prior to the announcement date).

To verify ESG-related organizations and committees, applicants are required to submit an organizational chart.

The compliance evaluation period covers Oct. 1, 2024 to Sept. 30, 2025.

In case of a tie in total evaluation scores, ranking will be determined in the following order:

① Higher total score in quantitative evaluation
② Higher scores in individual quantitative items
③ Higher total score in qualitative evaluation.

Application period: Oct. 20, 2025 – Oct. 31, 2025 by 17:00 (Korean local time)
