In the show Stray Kids (2017), why was it already titled “Stray Kids” when apparently, the show is supposed to be about a boy and a girl group fighting to debut?

I didn’t get to watch the show when it aired in 2017 but just recent, and I just wonder why the show is already titled “Stray Kids” but in episode 1, the boy group (SKZ) was supposed to battle against a girl group (that consisted of future ITZY members) to be the project team to debut and correct me if I’m wrong, initially the boy group isn’t sure yet to get the spot until JYP’s decision upon the evaluation.

I mean isn’t that kind of predictable that time? The poster of the show also have the future SKZ line up. Like, if they had the show where the previews is about an upcoming JYP boy group already and literally titled ‘Stray Kids’ which is the name of the group, then what’s the use of making it seem that the girl group in episode 1 had a fighting chance when all the promotions of the show is centered around the boy group already? You know what I mean? In hindsight it just didn’t make sense imo and it blatantly showed it was kind of just a scripted part. Just my thoughts.
