While I absolutely love cute and funky, Y2K concepts going around in the groups nowadays, I really miss the sensual, mature songs and concepts from 2nd gen or early 3rd gen. Eg- AOA, red velvet, sistar.
I do not mean the KIOF, katseye’s “hot”, “bold” concepts. Absolutely no hate to those groups, but their concepts aren’t even close to being sensual not mature. Bold? Maybe. But that is also in a “checking off the tickboxes” way.
Most of their mvs have: twerk? Check. Booty shorts? Check. Rocking a toy/ chair scene? Check.
And the songs’ itselves? Nope. No stealthy flirting, no inneudos in an appreciable way.
It’s like they want to throw the boldness in our faces. And that’s fine. These groups aren’t claiming to be the peak of sensuality, and their concepts do work out for them.
So the point still stands that no major 4th gen of 5th gen groups(only the ones with adult members) have done the concept I mentioned, recently.
The last time I remember someone did such concept and excelled at it, was Enhypen and WayV. Enhypen’s fever and WayV’s love talk.
Even Kai’s solo (mmh) and Bangchan’s solo (sorry I don’t remember the name), were so good.
Sadly no ggs, as per I remember. Would love to get reccs.
