This is coming from someone who grew up with and somewhat recovered from anger issues.
I understand wanting to film and perform in public. I myself have filmed a few personal TikToks in public spaces. But, in regards to people walking in front of dancers, I feel like you need to consider how entitled you are to a certain space.
I recently saw a video of a few women walking in front of a group of K-pop cover dancers. Was it rude? Yes. Was it anyway harmful or evil? No.
Yes, the dancers would have to refilm, but you’re also in a public space so just because other people decide to be polite and make way does not mean you are owed that same politeness by everyone else.
I would’ve been more understanding if the walking women had mocked them or shoved them, but they literally just walked. One of the dancers had went up in one of the women’s space and started shoving her and I just felt like that was such a gross overreaction. I get being angry but what justifies that sort of reaction?
If they had just gotten pissed off and argued, to an extent I’d get it, but putting your hands on someone because they ruined a dance cover felt so entitled.
If a K-pop idol had done that, especially a female one, they’d get so much hate for it, so I don’t understand why comments were cheering them on like shoving someone for walking was a sane thing to do. Maybe its a culture difference and westerners or Americans are just used to doing that, but all of it just felt tacky.
