Hybe used to be the best big 4 company for consistently good music for me. In 2024 we got easy,crazy and super real me all in the same year and these are still some of my fav kpop eps to this day. With that being said,if you showed me the trajectory of hybe ggs this year in 2024 I wouldn’t believe you.
All 3 hybe ggs released lead singles that followed the same pattern in the spam of a month. All these singles to me
seem like they have nothing substantial to offer and rely on being earworms that unwillingly get stuck in your head to make it into ppl’s playlists. The production is hollow,the lyrics range from average to bad (in katseye’s case) and they’re clearly made so their respective subsidiaries can get a viral hit with the least possible creative effort.
I’m disappointed in their subsidiaries for doing this to their title tracks,especially lesserafim’s. Out of hybe’s 3 current active ggs,lesserafim had the best discography. During the first two years of their career they were unstoppable. For me as a listener,it was hits after hits after hits. I literally loved everything they released. There was not a single song I could complain about,everything was so good. It feels like they did a complete 180 turn with title tracks now.
And the reason I’m focusing mainly on lesserafim is because I keep up w katseye and illit but I’m not an active fan,while lesserafim is literally part of the foundation of my stanlist.
And what gets me is that they can clearly pick better songs. Both illlit’s and lesserafim’s latest bsdies were great,esp lsrfm’s.
I’m sorry if this post is incoherent,I just really wanna get my thoughts out there. Also,what’s being said is solely my thoughts,not trying to tell anyone how to feel about their recent singles
