How good you think a song is is not how much you like it.

Why is this such a hard concept for people to understand? The two are not the same.

I could play you some Mozart and 90% of you would say it’s a masterpiece. However, nowhere near 90% of you would now say it is one of your favourite songs of all time.

I only give my favourite K-Pop song of all time 3.5 stars out of 5 (Mayyybe a 3.75) There are literally hundreds of K-Pop songs I think are better, and that is fine.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how much you like a song. However, being able to talk about how good songs are (respectfully) can allow for some really good and productive musical dialogue in K-Pop and that discussion can’t occur unless you recognize the difference.
