Had a very sweet moment that I felt like sharing.
Needed a haircut so I went to the hair dresser I used from 2004-2015 (left to take my child back to the West for her education and just came back in 2026). Walked in the shop, recognized the owner right away, but it was clear she didn’t recognize me. Walked further into the salon, smiling, and she had a sudden OMG moment and said, “Oh, it’s you!”
She was just as lovely as always and we had a great conversation about our kids and how I was back in Korea and all of that. But then came the crunch time. Back in 2004, it was about $6 for a haircut. By the time I left, it was $8. It had been 11 years, and I paid a ridiculous $10 for my haircut. lol *^^*
After having had a very similar experience when I went to see my old doctor (with whom I also had a long chat about life and children lol) these are the times when I’ve felt most at home since coming back to Korea and I thought I would share so that many of you who are often not here for as long, or perhaps have had many negative experiences, can also see some of the good sides. 🙂
