The fan reception after Cortis’ first concert has been absolutely brutal for multiple reasons.
I haven’t seen a single fan account that came away with a positive impression. Considering tickets cost ₩143,000, everyone felt like they didn’t get their money’s worth.
The first complaint was the length. The concert only lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes, which is incredibly short for a kpop concert.
Another thing fans weren’t happy about was the final ment where the members share their final thoughts. The members just said a sentence or two before quickly passing the mic to the next member. One Coer who attended even said they thought it was some kind of joke because of how quickly they were trying to wrap up the ending. They wanted more sincerity from the group.
The lighting was another issue. Multiple people said the lights and laser beams were way too intense. One fan even described them as epilepsy-inducing and others said the lights were so bright that they could barely see the members on stage. Fans were also disappointed that there weren’t any outfit changes throughout the entire concert.
But the biggest complaint by far has been the setlist. Cortis is still a rookie group with only 12 songs in their discography, so everyone knew they didn’t have enough songs to fill an entire concert. Normally, groups make up for that with cover stages, unreleased songs, unit stages, special performances, or new arrangements.
Apparently, they did none of that… Instead, they just kept repeating the same songs over and over again to fill the concert, to the point where even their own fans got tired of hearing them.
Here are the songs they repeated:
- GO — 2 times
- What You Want — 2 times
- TNT — 2 times
- Fashion — 2 times
- ACAI — 2 times
- REDRED — 4 times
- YOUNGCREATORCREW — 5 times
The entire second half of the concert was basically just YCC and REDRED on repeat. Literally nearly half of the concert was just them performing REDRED and YCC lol
Because of that, many Korean fans have been calling it a 날먹콘서트. “날먹” is Korean slang for shamelessly coasting, doing as little work as possible while still cashing in. They’re basically accusing them of padding the concert with repeated songs instead of preparing enough content to justify the ticket price.
A lot of their own fans are calling it the worst kpop concert they’ve ever been to. I literally haven’t seen one positive comment about it. As someone who is planning on attending their tour, I’m not too raved about it after these reviews…
edit: I forgot to mention this but the fans also chanted for an encore for 10 minutes after Cortis left the stage until a staff member came out and told everyone to leave lol…
