I honestly don’t know where to start. I’ve been really happy seeing Cortis’ recent vlogs because they genuinely seem happy and comfortable with each other. You can really see that they’re getting along.
But the recent Cosmopolitan “therapy” interview made me feel really bad for Martin. For the record, I don’t really have a bias in Cortis. I think they’re all talented and deserve to be part of the group.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been binge-watching and even listening to the “Hey Tablo” interview with James and Martin while working because I really enjoyed their chemistry with Tablo. Since Tablo is from an older generation of K-pop, I really appreciated the advice and perspective he gave them. I also loved how mature but still fun James and Martin were during the interview.
Tablo even mentioned that he liked how different James and Martin are in interviews, and I completely agree. That’s actually one of the many reasons I started stanning this group. I like that they have different personalities and ways of expressing themselves.
That’s why the Cosmopolitan interview felt so awkward to me. Of course, we only see a small part of their relationship, so I don’t want to assume what’s happening behind the scenes. But from what was shown, it felt like James was directing a lot of criticism toward Martin.
James is the oldest, and if there are things about Martin that have been bothering him, I honestly hope they can talk about them privately and openly. Martin is still a teenager, and while he can be very mature, especially when talking to older people, he’s still going to have teenage moments and behavior. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.
I just don’t think interviews are the best place to repeatedly call him out or express those frustrations. If there really are unresolved issues between them, I hope they can talk things through privately and get some guidance if needed.
I’m not trying to hate on James or take sides because I genuinely like all of them. I was just disappointed by the interview, especially after seeing how comfortable and happy they’ve seemed in their recent vlogs and how much I enjoyed their “Hey Tablo” interview.
I really hope they can communicate better and work through anything that might be bothering them. I genuinely want to see all of them grow together and have a good relationship as a group in the long run.
