So yes obviously what he attempted was foolish and nothing short of treacherous.
And yes it was carried out it such a disorganised and parodied way that one wondered if he had been blackmailed into doing it.
And yes we are all the better for not having a dictatorial crackpot take over an Asian Tiger like South Korea.
But surely he must have known that if he start something as brazen as this he would have to see it through all the way or face the slaughterhouse afterwards.
So why did he withdraw the martial law at the last minute and start apologising. Why did he not hold on to it, and continue to rally whatever little support he may have in the military to see through this little coup attempt of his at least until the mission was complete or semi complete. Or if it fails continue his rhetoric about the opposition being hijacked by North Korea (however bullshit that may be) and take a page from the Donald Trump handbook. By half assing the whole process he is now a sitting animal waiting to be slaughtered. A powerless president who has no influence or face and likely to be imprisoned for a long time.
So I can’t seem to understand why he did it. This is giving Prigozhin vibes.
