there’s a distinction between insulting someone and describing their well-known documented public behavior. on another reddit, one of my posts got taken down for insulting a member because i said that they have a “history of mistreating/intimidating their peers.”
i think people automatically hear something negative and assume it’s an insult, but when the description is based off of actions a person did, it no longer becomes an insult but rather a judgement. calling someone a bully isn’t the same as randomly name-calling them when there are documented instances (from staff, their peers, other trainees, etc.) of them bullying others. the same thing applies to a member (in the same group) that has made misogynistic comments. describing that behavior as misogynistic is simply a description of their actions, not an attack or personal insult towards them.
people can disagree about the severity of what happened, but discussing their publicly known behavior isn’t the same thing as inventing negative traits or insulting those members. if someone doesn’t want to be known as a bully or misogynistic, then it is their responsibility to not engage in those behaviors in the first place.
