Whenever there’s a Kpop controversy I get a little disappointed because fans nitpick every little thing they dislike about a group, while their many appealing qualities are sidelined. Therefore I’ll keep things simple and highlight a couple of performances from earlier this year which I really respect. They’re from Cortis and aespa as both groups had their share of controversy or hate and I thought it was only fair to show them appreciation.
The first link is for Cortis when they performed at the special event ‘Inkigayo on the Go’ back in April. It was the first Kpop music show I watched live cover to cover and I was blown away by the various stages including the one from Cortis. Their charisma and dancing were astounding for such a young group and I was amazed as they had the audience eating out of the palm of their hand. Here’s the Cortis stage:

I next wanna highlight aespa at Korea University’s Ipselenti Festival. They performed WDA, and their live singing sounded amazing while their dancing was cool too. The whole thing was a satisfying clapback to their haters, and it was great to the girls rocking the stage. They were the first Kpop group I saw live at a concert last year and I’ll never forget it. Here’s aespa and their badass live performance of WDA:
