Apparently, when San was invited to do a ceremonial kick at a football game in Korea a couple of days back he did a bit of ATEEZ’s BAD choreography for the cameras afterwards.
I don’t follow football closely enough to know the exact details of the event, but the reaction from some football fans was not surprisingly harsh towards this.
I can understand people who don’t follow the group seeing the clip and thinking his dancing is cringe or whatever. There were also quite a few people from other kpop fans joining in with comments mocking him, saying that he lacked aura and he’s embarrassing kpop as a whole.
But then I started seeing the football fans using homophobic slurs and making racist comments about him and then he ended up genuinely getting dragged endlessly to which his fans reacted and the hate just snowballed from there.
Like… this was just something he did at an event he was invited to, and now thousands of online football fans are turning it into this huge joke at his expense saying that this will be a meme for football history books.
I think the more his fans defended him the more people seemed to pile on and deliberately provoke them for engagement of sorts.
My friend who is a football fan thinks him being invited there was a big mistake.
Has anyone else come across this? I’m curious what people who follow both football and K-pop thought of the whole thing.
