So caveat so that I hopefully don’t get jumped, everything I’m saying here is anecdotal and my perception of things could be off – just hoping to see if others agree or feel differently.
Anyway I’ve felt for a while that there seem to be very few fans who actually would qualify as, or consider themselves JYPe company stans, in the sense that they feel like “JYP groups are my favorite”, “JYP has the best groups”, “I always look forward to and follow new JYP group debuts” etc. From my experience, Twice fans are Twice fans, Stray Kids fans are Stray Kids fans, and so on, and don’t really have that brand loyalty with the company.
In comparison the amount of people I see that are in the fandoms of multiple HYBE or SM groups, tend to speak highly of the virtues of groups under the company, believe that their groups are the best, is way higher.
YG may be similar to JYPe’s situation here, though that might just be western/english speaking spaces because I get the sense YG actually does have a lot of brand loyalty among k-pop fans in parts of Asia/SEA. I just haven’t really seen that anywhere for JYPe.
