i don’t read often (i really should), but the memoir and autobiographical genre is my favorite type of book.
thinking about it, i’d want to read super junior’s. any member, really. super junior have been here for a long time. their 20th anniversary was last year. and i feel like because of that, a memoir is long overdue. they’ve seen kpop and the industry change drastically before their eyes, and they were one of the biggest influences that drove those changes during the 2nd generation, so i would love to read what would basically be a time capsule blast to the past, giving people insights and nostalgia as to what kpop was like during a time when things like foreign members and large member groups were pretty new (suju normalized it), and their reactions to everything changing around them. above all, it would be a really interesting testament to the changes and evolution of kpop from the perspectives of people directly involved as the frontline performers.
super junior have also had a lot of struggle to get where they are today, whether people like them or not. the car accidents, the members leaving, the uncertainties of the military, sm (or maybe not. because multiple members have admitted to being hit and pushed around by sm staff). it makes for a good story.
and super junior have had… way too much drama i would have loved to be a fly on the wall for. but i’ve always wanted to hear the full story behind the 10th anniversary, the creation of the sublabel and how sm basically left them to fend for themselves for the devil album. of course, if they ever do release a memoir i doubt they’d include any of the drama behind members leaving. but i think most fans would be curious for closure or at least a little more insight as to what happened.
or even any background to the shade they have towards sm. they always say things like they fight a lot with sm, even last year. but on what? why? i wish they would do a tell-all. how about you guys?
