In June of 2023 the 4 Original Members of Fifty Fifty filed for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with Attrakt and that was the beginning of the end for the 4 girls known then as Fifty Fifty.
Since then Fifty Fifty has regrouped as 5 under Attrakt with one original member (The Eldest Keena) and 4 new members : Moon Chanelle, Yewon, Hana and Athena.
They redebuted in 2024 With SOS, around the same time the 3 former members (Sio, Saena and Aran) announced their new company and new group ablume.
Fifty Fifty has released 2 Eps and 1 Digital single album, gone on a US tour and Fantour in Asian countries as well as starting a new one very soon with 4 Asian stops.
Their first release as 5 showed promise with 20K sales but their follow up Day and Night released in may of 2025 featuring the lead single Pookie sold 100K copies in the first week and managed to crack the top 40 on Melon with Pookie.
With their latest release being this past week with Like a Bubble (I listened to the EP and I believe carry on is one of the best songs I have heard this year).
On the other hand, Ablume made their return with the single album Echo in May of 2025 as well and even released a reindition cupid with a promise of fan meetings tours and a concert later in the year which didn’t end up being true. while their song didn’t hit anywhere domestically, it performed well for a new group on Spotify and some Itunes territories!
Since October Ablume has been off the grid, disappeared on social media, their fans speculated it was due to the company sale, their trademark (both which has been resolved) while others said it’s due to the lawsuit against them by Attrakt.
Their company has teased a full album comeback in 2026 but I am skeptical not gonna lie.
Below is a summary of both companies and acts 2025 financial records
FIFTY FIFTY : Total Revenue: USD 9.67 million / Net Profit: USD 1.97 million
ABLUME : Total Revenue: USD 16,570 / Net Loss: USD 1.375 million
3 years later, what do you guys think? Fifty Fifty as OT5 has lasted more than the original debut and has released more music with the name though none have reached the heights of Cupid.
I personally thought Ablume would be more successful, perhaps it was the online communities but I didn’t expect fifty fifty to be the more consistent group.
I think a majority of people thought fifty fifty wouldn’t survive a reformation.
Have you checked out of both groups cause of the drama? Or are you supporting both?
Tell me your thoughts below.
PS: Please don’t use this post to incite hate on any of these girls.
