In le sserafim debut film, Yunjin said she wants to change the idol industry, something I can agree was a bit cringe to say as a rookie with no background of being an idol, but with what I believe are good intentions, and she got attacked like crazy calling her prideful and saying she is very full of herself thinking she can make changes, but the point is she never said she is changing but that she wants to change and change is not 180° in one day it’s a small step at a time
But the problem is that even if she wants to make a difference, K-pop fans don’t want to let her make changes. Everything she does is labeled as performative, her talking about LGBTQ is performative, her saying to fans to love the way they look, performative, her talking about the hardships of being an idol, performative, her talking about the affects an insane hate train had on her and her members, performative,
she can’t try to change anything, even things that are very important like talking about tge affect the hate trains had on them cause kpop fans need to understand how hard those hate trains are for the idols, without it starting another hate train calling her attention seeker and miserable.
It just looks like K-pop fans love talking about the industry being toxic but don’t want it to be changed at all, and it good for them like that
