Reverxe and Crown is so special to me because it perfectly encapsulates the history of EXO while having enough flavor to stand its own. I watched their 2 performance videos and I realized that Crown and Reverxe is crafted so masterfully in terms of telling EXO’s story.
Let’s start with Choreography:
We get bits and pieces of their old choreography like:
– The eve’s body roll
– Wolf’s Tree of Life
– Monster’s finger to shoulder move
– Overdose/monster raising a person
– Obsession Head Move (this time EXO won with the backup dancers falling)
– Chanyeol starting the choreography like Obsession
– The eclipse shown with the backup dancer/s
– Power’s Slow Motion dance break in the last chorus
– Kokobop’s lyricless dance break
– DFTF front to back change position/s
– Tempo/Cream Soda’s isolated unit/center parts
– Wolf Singer Bridge
– Wolf claws hand gestures
Music Video:
Obviously we get the showcase of their powers (notable parts):
– Lay healing/rebuilding the castle as soon as he starts singing
– Lay healing an injured KAI
– Lay literally reverxing Kyungsoo from his petrified state
– Kai teleporting every member away from trouble to the battlefield
– Lay having leaves and branches rising in his prescence.
– The eclipse showcasing that they have won over X-EXO
– Everyone reaching for the Crown
– Chanyeol Burning the enemies signifying his victory
– Kyungsoo sending the rocks flying in the debris
– Sehun controlling the feathers and also the rocks
The set pieces reminding of us about El Dorado where EXO is also searching for something and I believe Reverxe is the continuation of it with the Crown being what they are looking for.
The MV also utilizes the one take transitions that EXO is known for in Growl, CMB, Tempo.
Crown’s lyrics is also very different from the usual royalty concept I.e. Im the king and Im the best among all. It is more of a we will do everything to protect the crown and the throne. Shifting the entire royalty sense into responsibility rather than power
The songs of reverxe are also reminiscent of debut exo up to their recent eras. Like a quick view on what EXO is all about

IT’S such a well thought out album from the concept to the lyrics and the choreography. Reverxe is so special to me as someone who only started fully stanning them in Tempo. It deserves all the love it gets for what it is and for what it is trying to achieve (that is to show EXO to the world) – and I believe even if it has caused divided reactions among fandom it remains one of their best especially in their modern era (i,e. 2020 – present).
Also considering everything that has happened to the group Reverxe and Crown to me is a very sincere effort from EXO to tell everyone that THEY are here to STAY. Oh GoatXO you are one of one. Let me know if I missed some references in Crown and Reverxe as a whole. Let us enjoy this ERA wholeheartedly!
