A random video just came up on my FYP talking about 5th gen streaming numbers or something, so that’s when I found this out.
I always thought of XLOV as slightly niche – most people knew of them, but I thought it was primarily for their concept. Don’t take this as shade please; I’m a fan of them, I genuinely was unaware that they were actually kinda huge??
1&Only’s streaming numbers are truly insane??? (and half of them are me tbh lol)
44 million total streams currently (6 months post-release). Daily streams currently around 250k/day. I don’t bring this up to make competition or anything, but that’s on par with some of CORTIS, Enhypen, Twice, LSF and Aespa’s titles. These artists are HUGE on streaming, so you can understand my surprise seeing XLOV there??? A group from a pretty small company with Boys Planet members who didn’t make it to the finale? Rizz (their newest release) is outstreaming Gangnam Style atm lmao, not that this is a relevant comparison point I just found it funny.
I’m so delusional but who knows, maybe one day they’d pull a Fifty Fifty and get a charting hit without the same promotional backing some of the bigger companies can provide. Unlikely, but I can hope. Their streaming numbers without any play listing or significant US/global promotion are already awesome.
(also imagine how dropped my jaw was seeing AOA’s Miniskirt climbing up the charts??? 300k streams per day??? okay?????)
I’m genuinely so excited to see them doing this well. 1&Only was an amazing song and it’s good to see it getting its deserved level of success. I remember being so insanely upset seeing Wumuti fail to debut in BP 🙁 but also considering 1&Only now has more streams than any ZB1 title barring In Bloom is actually crazy. I don’t want to come off shady here – ZB1 was my second most streamed group last year on my Spotify. But it is objectively unusual to see the non-winning ex-survival show contestant groups being so comparable in success to the main one.
