Ottogi Co., one of South Korea’s leading food manufacturers, is partnering with BTS member Jin to expand its presence in Indonesia, the world’s second-largest instant noodle market. The collaboration centers on the company’s halal-certified Jin Ramen, as the K-food maker accelerates its overseas push amid growing global demand for halal products.
Ottogi said on Nov. 10 that it has begun selling Jin Ramen and three varieties of cheese ramen in Indonesia. The company obtained halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) late last year, in preparation for Indonesia’s plan to make halal certification mandatory for all food and beverage products—both domestic and imported—starting in October 2026.
Indonesia ranks second only to China in instant noodle consumption. According to the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA), Indonesians consumed 14.68 billion servings in 2023, representing about 12% of global demand.
“Global consumers already associate Jin Ramen with BTS’s Jin, and anticipation is running high for the collaboration,” an Ottogi official said. “We launched a global campaign earlier this year featuring him to strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia.”
