I don’t like those videos that use the worst moments in kpop just to get views and likes

There is a time and place for everything. Kpop has had many scandals and tragedies, and naturally people are going to be interested in the details. I get that. I think in some cases people should definitely take the time if they can to learn what really happened because it can raise awareness about certain issues, such as the specifics of the Burning Sun criminal case and those involved.

What I don’t like and what kind of ticks me off is when people make those shorts or TikToks or whatever they’re called where they compile the ‘saddest/scariest moments in kpop’ for views. It’ll be stuff like Sulli’s last live and it shows her completely broken on screen, or it’ll be the big screen falling on the dancers at the Mirror concert some years back. Maybe it’s TWICE Mina suddenly crying in front of a crowd due to her anxiety before her hiatus. Or it’s the sasaeng that tried to drag Taeyeon off stage mid performance. Stuff like that.

The thing is, these compilation videos never give any context or explanation, and the music playing in the background is whatever recent GG release that’s trending or charting well to draw in as many viewers as possible through the algorithm. The videos really just turn into: “LOOK AT THIS! THIS IS TERRIBLE! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!” It’s just really wrong to me that someone would make a video like that just to grow their channel. It’s like those people eating a buffet of food while casually going over the most gruesome true crime stories ever. Like they don’t give a crap about the people involved and are just releasing content.

Well, that’s just me. How do you guys feel about this type of video?
