South Korea’s Shinhan Card Co. announced on Wednesday that it signed a strategic business agreement with the provincial government of Alberta, Canada, to develop services and jointly market to customers visiting Alberta.
Alberta, Canada, home to the Rocky Mountains, includes natural wonders such as Banff National Park, Jasper National Park and Lake Louise, with major cities like Calgary and Edmonton.
Under the agreement, Shinhan Card will work with Alberta’s Destination Canada, formerly the Canadian Tourism Commission, and local businesses to develop services across all areas of travel, including tourism, shopping and dining.
Starting with this partnership, Shinhan Card plans to expand its collaboration with other Canadian provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec, in conjunction with Destination Canada.
Shinhan Card expects to utilize its big data capabilities to identify customer groups with a high potential for traveling to Canada and to conduct targeted marketing for those who book flights and accommodations.
The company also plans to provide Destination Canada with big data on South Korean customers’ tourism patterns, consumption behaviors and preferences in Canada.
Shinhan Card will introduce the Canada Service Pack, offering various discount offers across sectors such as airlines, local hotels and major national park tours.
