Have you ever had this experience of reading a K-Pop Reddit post and having this weird feeling like something is about to explode. The thread itself is relatively peaceful, no slurs, no overly hateful language (😭), just a “normal” discussion. But something doesn‘t feel right, like a magma reservoir ready to blow up. Like a bomb about to go off. Like a K-Pop stan hiding their feelings of hate behind a wall of paragraphs while you can sense that they‘re fuming inside…
This is how most K-Pop Reddit discussions feel to me. Reddit users have this insane superiority complex where they think they are so much better than everyone else. We‘re not though, we‘re just more dishonest and snarky.
If you have resentful or hateful feelings towards a group then why don‘t you just say so? Why do you try to hide those feelings behind a wall of paragraphs? Why don‘t you just say that you‘re jealous and want the group to fail? I bet that all of us have experienced these kind of feelings before, just let it out. Tell us exactly how you fell cause I know that most of us feel the same in one way or another about one group or another, whether “justified” or not.
And THEN we can have a conversation about how we can get these feelings under control. Hiding behind paragraphs and “smart” words won‘t help anyone, it just makes it more toxic because people act more righteous about why the hate is justified.
Edit: Posted this twice (👀) to see how the different subs react.
