First of all, i want to explain: This post is not to be received as some hateful post about any group whatsoever and i’m not too much into kpop (in the way that i clearly understand that the groups i enjoy are in a working environment and can behave in a complete different way behind closed doors), but why are there so many people that i see online that try to defend a billion dollar corporation, which is notoriously known for various scandals?
I mean its known that trainees and also some artists in HYBE (not just in HYBE but u know what i mean) are often abused and mistreated, the chairman is involved in various criminal investigations regarding fraud, groups always in some way or form loose a member (miss u danielle), straight up weird acqusitions of companies (fe. Scooter Braun) and various repression tactics used against groups if they retaliate.
Best examples are obviously the recent events regarding Danielle (i’ll leave enhypen out of this post as its not clear what has happened at this point) and the various lawsuits against Min Hejin, which have been mostly proven false. (No hostile takeover by MH).
Still, I see so many people defending this corporation to their teeth. Why? In 99% of cases, the artist is not at fault. Like it or not, thats sadly the case in SK and artists will always be on the loosing end if no reforms are brought through. Still people try to blame Danielle, blame Newjeans itself, and so on. Is this HYBE trying to control public opinion in some way or form or people just being blind to the issue at hand?
