Which idols had ‘lucky breaks’ or unique paths compared to traditional K-Pop trainees?

This is something I think about often, just out of curiosity. I’m still relatively new to K-Pop, and I’ve been fascinated by the different paths idols take to debut. I’ve noticed some artists seem to have had a slightly “easier” or more unique road—though I know it’s never truly easy.

For example, Yoonchae from KATSEYE trained in Korea but debuted in a global group that’s LA-based and seems to be more flexible than traditional idol groups. And Kyongbae from Close Your Eyes was self-taught and got in through a survival show without a typical trainee background.

Who are some other idols that come to mind who maybe had less of the grueling training system, or had circumstances that helped them a bit more than others?
