random rant, but since dreamcatcher kinda soft disbanded with dami, handong, and gahyun terminating contracts, a group like dreamcatcher probably will never appear again. and im pissed
dreamcatcher is one of my ult groups and part of why is just how good and unique their music is. OOTD, which imo is one of their weakest title tracks, still clears a lot of current group title tracks, while their best tracks like bonvoyage, boca, you and i, deja vu, and odd eye are some of the best songs in general ive ever listened to. the rock elements, the dark concept, the musicality, its just something i cant really find in any current groups. the only group that kinda comes to mind is nmixx, and even then they dont have many consistent rock elements, which is what i loved about dreamcatcher(still absolutely love nmixx)
i wish more companies had the guts to experiment with rock sound outside of idol bands. the fact that dreamcatcher was as popular as they were shows its a niche that absolutely can be filled and while it may not make as much money as more popular concepts(which lets face it is all the companies care about anyways), dreamcatcher company can just capture that demand and income with a 5th gen rock girlgroup and theyll have a reliable income group of insomnias who will probably stan them too
