The reason YG failed to manage Blackpink properly:

Blackpink is easily one of the most successful girl groups in the world—if not the most successful. But despite their massive popularity, there have always been a lot of complaints about how YG managed their careers. Even though they consistently released hits, Blinks were often frustrated by the lack of songs and promotions. Honestly, things could have been handled way better over the past nine years.

In my opinion, one of YG’s biggest mistakes was prioritizing solo activities over group projects. Blackpink released only 32 songs as a group, while the members had a total of 8 solo tracks. That means 20% of their music was focused on individual careers rather than the group as a whole. This not only created gaps in popularity between the members but also built strong solo fanbases. So when their contracts ended, they already had solid individual fanbases, which made it way easier for them to leave instead of staying with YG.

If YG had focused more on the group, they could have kept Blackpink’s brand stronger, avoided splitting the fandom, and maybe even made it more likely for the members to renew their contracts.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with me?
