The reason for NMIXX’s relative lack of general public popularity compared to its strong fandom is their title tracks’ lack of romance/sex appeal

First off I want to make it very clear that none of what I say should be taken as an excuse to shame any idols. If you must moralize, critique the taste of the general public.

Anyway, this thought came to me after a TikTok about why NMIXX isn’t more popular inspired me to go back to Nmixx’s predebut covers. The amount of tight cropped shirts really stood out to me, and the dance choreos were at times a bit much. The videos that showed more skin were also the ones with the most views.

Contrast that vibe with O.O, which is the most chaste major gg debut I can think of. There’s basically no romance in the lyrics and the MV outfits are very baggy and fluffy.

Also, the members can absolutely bring romantic chemistry. All of the fandom’s ships are not based on nothing. It just seems like the creative direction for songs is much more on the cool side of things and the GP hasn’t latched on.

Do you agree with this read of the branding of NMIXX’s songs?
