After seeing HyunA collapsed on stage, i have seen hundreds of posts about people getting concerned and outraged but, this isn’t new, and neither is the whole “I’m concerned” thing. It happened to Sulli, Jang Ja-Yeon, Kim Jong Hyun, kim Sae Ron and others.and it will happen again. The red flags are mostly visible, but the reality is most people don’t give a damn as long as they get new content from their idols. Not long ago, Rosé was severely underweight, and she was either being bullied or criticized. Hanni spoke up about wanting better treatment and called out the industry and guess what, a lot of people started saying she was being ungrateful. The only way to stop this cycle is by changing the industry itself and the pressure placed on idols. But of course, that won’t happen. The most obsessed fans…the ones who fixate on every tiny detail, like what an idol wears or who they date are the ones feeding this industry. And companies won’t risk losing money because of that. It’s sad we are so used to seeing idols taking their own lives, we just dedicate a tweet or post and move on…
